The pro-Palestinian encampment at Northwestern University's Deering Meadow in Evanston, Illinois enters its second night on April 26, 2024. The TRiiBE
Beginning Thursday, April 25, Northwestern students and community members occupied Deering Meadow, calling for an end to what they saw as the university's complicity in Israel's attacks on Gaza.
On Monday, April 29, organizers reached an agreement with university administration granting some of their demands, including disclosure of investments and increased support for Muslim and Middle Eastern students.
Between tense confrontations with university police and pro-Israel counter protesters, the typically quiet field became a gathering place for students to learn with and from each other.
